Avatrim (with Green-Tea) Review

Posted on March 11th, 2007 in Diet Pill Reviews by Rachel

When it comes to the weight-loss department, green tea is no stranger. You might have often heard of its thermogenic properties. In fact, there are so many commercially available green tea slimming products for sale on the market today, it’s just a matter of choosing which one works. As for me, Avatrim was the one.

Avatrim has other fat-burning components other than green tea which can aid you in losing weight. All of these components (green tea included) are scientifically guaranteed to increase your metabolism and amount of spent energy. This means other than burning fats, Avatrim also gives you that extra boost of power you might need during the day. Avatrim could also curb your hunger and lower your blood cholesterol. The exact ingredients of Avatrim include Green Tea (Camellia sinensis), Piper nigrum, Acetyl L-Carnitine, Bioperine, Biotin and Alpha Lipoic Acid.

Let’s start with green tea. Did you know that green tea is actually created from dried Camellia sinensis (a deciduous shrub) leaves? These leaves are dried immediately right after they are picked to be able to put a halt on the oxidation process. There have been numerous studies on the anti-oxidant properties of green tea but all of them agree that the there are two active elements in the substance – polyphenols and catechins. Green tea extracts with high amounts of polyphenol are most effective because of their high concentration.

According to studies, green tea has the ability to add to the body’s daily energy expenditure by 4%. This increase happens during the daytime, hence green tea products are generally advised to be taken before four in the afternoon. Intake of green tea extracts could also be associated with an increase in the rate of thermogenesis because of the catechins’ presence in the substance. One of the catechins, epigallocatechin gallate, for example, capitalizes on the fat-burning capability of caffeine in the green tea. Green tea extracts increase rate of fat-burning because they hinder disintegration of the hormone accountable for burning fats – Norepinephrine.

Another component of Avatrim is Biotin. This is a B-complex, water soluble vitamin. It has an essential part in carbohydrate and fat metabolism. It can also provide energy, restore your hair’s health, and can combat insulin resistance which is one major cause for obesity. Another ingredient, L-carnitine (a type of amino acid), can boost utilization of glucose and oxidation of fatty acids. Alpha-Lipoic acid also helps augment the body’s utilization of glucose molecules. R-Lipoic acid, on the other hand, can imitate the functionality of insulin and hence can lower blood sugar levels.

Black pepper or, as named in the list of ingredients, Piper nigrum, has two active ingredients which are very effective. The first is piperine which can lower the body’s lipid contents and the second is bioperine which has fat-burning capabilities.

It should be noted that Avatrim is CGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices) approved which means it passed FDA’s standards in drug manufacturing. Actually, the name ‘Avatrim’ doesn’t just mean the diet pills. Avatrim is in fact a whole weight loss plan divided into three components – the drug itself, the diet and the physical activity plans. The whole Avatrim program is designed so that people who’ve already lost weight would not gain it back again. I had not experienced any side effects while using this product though the weight loss wasn’t as immediately apparent as it was when I used Proactol.
